why XP: the first computer I ever used ran Windows XP, and it got me hooked on computers.

about me

Taran here. I studied Economics and Data Science at the University of Washington, and now I build agentic, multimodal AI on Google Cloud as a software engineer at Zion Cloud Solutions. Before that I ran product for an AR heads-up display that helps first responders, managed UW's equipment-checkout program, and founded MenYou, an app that tells you what to order.

I care most about the space where product sense meets data: figuring out what people actually need, then building the thing that gets it to them. Away from a screen you'll find me on late night drives and scenic hikes, on the pickleball court, deep in a classic novel or a health podcast, or testing yet another chicken recipe. (I once ate boiled chicken and potatoes for a whole month. No regrets.)

The first computer system I ever got my hands on ran Windows XP, and it got me addicted to computers.

The windows here hold photos from two of my favorite places: outdoors, and somewhere in the crowd at a show. Press L to boot.Press L to shut down.
